IMS 2012 Events & Parties announced

May 3rd, 2012

Where in previous years the focus has been on both the main event (the three-day music summit at the 5* Ibiza Gran Hotel) and the Friday night IMS Grand Finale Festival at Dalt Vila, last year saw the introduction of David Guetta also co-hosting Thursday night at Dalt Vila and this year it’s no different.

The unstoppable global force that is Mr Guetta returns (with friends!) to throw a huge open-air free party on the Thursday again, but that’s not all, there’s now a full week of IMS events/parties spread across Pacha, Blue Marlin, Grial, Es Vive, and new venue Bubbles, as well as the legendary opening parties at Space and Ushuaia.

The IMS Opening Party also takes place at Pacha with the first ever set from Chase & Status in the club. They will be followed by Porter Robinson – the hottest new name to emerge from the American EDM scene, fresh from his American college tour with Tiesto. Plus expect a storming back2back set featuring Kaz James and Carl Kennedy.

With the IMS Grand Finale Festival still very much the jewel in the IMS crown (Friday 25th May), this year’s line-up features Carl Cox, Loco Dice, Pete Tong, Seth Troxler, DJ E.A.S.E, Azari & III (live) and Disclosure (live) – all set in the heart of Ibiza Old Town, with nothing but the stars above you, looking over the Balearic Sea.

IMS Ibiza 2012 Grand Finale party with Carl Cox announced

February 20th, 2012

This years IMS Grand Finale events will again see 2 live nights at the UNESCO World Heritage site of D’alt Vila in Ibiza Town. In addition to the Friday night event (25th May 2012) there is also a free F**k Me I’m Famous event on the Thursday night followed by the F**k Me I’m Famous opening party at Pacha.

Celebrating their fifth year in operation, team IMS are very proud to be able to unveil the full details for this year’s IMS Grand Finale Festival – an event that’s now considered the opening party for the whole season.

Set in the heart of Ibiza Town and looking over the Balearic Sea, the very special UNESCO world heritage site in Dalt Vila is a place of true beauty, made even more special when you consider that this is the only time of the year the area is used for a contemporary music event.

THE IMS GRAND FINALE FESTIVAL

25TH MAY 2012 @ DALT VILA (18:00-0:00)

CARLCOX
LOCO DICE
PETE TONG
SETH TROXLER

LIVE PERFORMANCES FROM:
AZARI & III

With the aim to offer something for everyone, as well as bringing the highest caliber of artists to appeal to true dance music lovers, IMS: 2012 combines the perfect balance of heavyweight legendary names with some of the most exciting acts of today. In the “legends” corner we have two of the very best, with Pete Tong inviting his very good friend Carl Cox to the party – a man who’s done everything possible in his field.

From becoming a headline act in the late 80’s for the most exciting rave’s at the time and being the first ‘star’ DJ of Ibiza from his early shows in San Antonio, Carl Cox has maintained his status for the past 25 years, delivering the most exhilarating techno and house music wherever he goes. An icon. A legend. And his Tuesdays at Space event is now one of the strongest on the island. He is 50 years old in 2012, and deserves the headline billing for such a special event.

IMS will also host its second IMS LEGENDS DINNER at Lio on Wednesday May 23, following in the footsteps of Pete Tong from last year. The industry dinner will include speeches from close friends and a special one to one with Pete Tong.

Carl Cox – “It is a great honour that the IMS have invited me to celebrate my many years in the music industry, I have worked very hard in my life to strive to do the right thing and push my industry forward so to be acknowledged for this by such a great platform is truly wonderful. That said I am not over yet! There is plenty more to come!

Joining Pete and Carl are two of the leading lights in modern dance music, heralded for pushing the genre forward and bringing back some much-needed soul and charisma to clubs in recent years. They also both hold mythical status on the island, with Loco Dice the former Circoloco hotshot turned Cocoon hero and Seth Troxler the new king of DC-10, alongside his good friend and sometime DJ-partner Jamie Jones. With both Dice and Seth being voted in the top 10 of Resident Advisor’s annual DJ pole for the past three years running (Seth was voted #2 and Loco Dice #4 in 2011), you are guaranteed to hear the newest and finest in cutting edge club music.

Not stopping there, IMS always strives to bring forward the best live dance acts and this year is no different with…

Ben Turner, IMS Partner – “IMS is proud to unveil this line-up – our finest to date and very reflective of Ibiza innovation. The IMS events at Dalt Vila really are the most prestigious outdoor events of the Ibiza season and its our little way of saying thanks to the Ibiza Consell / government and the island for all the inspiration it gives us every year. The event now attracts partygoers from every corner of the world as the week around IMS becomes one of the busiest of the entire summer.
