The latest addition to the Ibiza Rocks line-up are Yorkshire lads: One Night Only, already set to become one of the break out bands of the year thanks to the killer single ‘Just For Tonight’, from their top ten album ‘Started A Fire’.

One Night Only will play Ibiza Rocks on 24th June before they head off to play 2 dates at Glastonbury.

The first of the Ibiza Rocks confirmed lineups and dates for 2008 are now in and its looking good for live music here in the summer. From the 17th June to 9th September, The Pigeon Detectives, The Wombats, The Fratellis, We Are Scientists, Reverend & The Makers, Soulwax and Pendulum will all be playing at Ibiza Rocks over the summer.

Tickets for the gigs will be 35 to 40euros (+ booking fee) and will be available from 11am (UK time) today. Click here to get your ibiza rocks tickets. All Ibiza Rocks gig tickets will include return transport from Bar M, San Antonio, which is the meeting point for Ibiza Rocks. Ibiza Rocks after party ticket options will also be available.

As already announced, The Enemy will be playing the official opening of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel on May 31st - ably supported by The Underground Heroes and Rob da Bank Pictures from last years gig

At the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, our favourite guys The Hungover Stuntmen will open the Hotels’ Live Lounge on the 28th May, in June its the turn of Underground Heroes, after them in July its Reading based band OK Tokyo.

A brilliant idea this year will see people being able to use their mobile phone as their ticket to gain entry, thanks to Sony Ericsson. By logging on to www.ibizarocks.com, and selecting ‘mobile-ticket’ upon purchase of a ticket to a gig of their choice, fans can now opt for paper-free entry. Sony Ericsson will send customers a unique bar-code directly to their mobile that will be scanned by Ibiza Rocks hosts - bypassing the hassle of locating mislaid tickets…

The Pigeon Detectives have been confirmed as the first band to play at this years 2008 ibiza rocks gigs on Tuesday 17th June at the opening party.

Dawn from Ibiza Rocks kindly gave us a guided tour this morning of the work in progress for the new Ibiza Rocks Hotel in San Antonio. The first guests will be arriving on May 3rd and they’re in for a treat.

At the entrance to the hotel is a supermarket and an Ibiza Rocks shop with branded marchandise, jewellry and other treats.

Inside there’s going to be a high end diner style area with over 20 types of homemade burgers and salads etc, next to that is a small bar and the vip area which also opens out onto a terrace overlooking the main pool area. The other pool area will be more of a chill-out area with loungers, sofas etc.

The whole of the entrance and lobby area is being redecorated and another side bar put in, again with sofas, large settees etc. In the lobby will also be 2 unique settees made out of two old-style baths!

By the main pool area is the large terrace and the main bar area under the 1st floor terrace. Here there’s also a stage for any live gigs, (e.g. the resident bands that will be playing), comedy stage and where the ibiza rocks after parties will be held. All this area will be soundproofed for the evenings entertainments.

Alongside the length of the room will be a velvet curtained off series of “booths” with sofas etc.

There’s also an XBox room which is being decorated by XBox and will be fully manned throughout the summer with a range of free xbox games and consoles everyone can use. They are also decorating the penthouse apartment that consists of 5 rooms where the bands can be put up. In addition to all that there’s a tennis court, a gym and free wifi.

We’ve taken a series of “before” photos but you’ll have to wait until the “after” photos are done before we can put them up - sorry!

On the Ibiza Rocks side it’s confirmed that the gigs will run from Tuesday 17th June until the 9th of September and the first set of bands will be annouced next week now. However there maybe one band we can announce tomorrow who will be playing the opening party on the 17th June…

We know 5 of the bands so far (2 of which will be doing residencies at the hotel) and it’s looking really good for the summer.
