Due to the phenomenal success of The Ibiza Rocks Diner in San Antonio, the Ibiza Rocks Group is expanding with a brand new Ibiza Rocks Diner in Playa d’en Bossa, offering something for all palates, with high quality and flavorsome food, all freshly prepared onsite. The new Ibiza Rocks Diner will open in May 2012 to get the summer off to a truly sizzling start.
Bringing the spirit of Ibiza Rocks to the heart of the White Isle’s hip and vibrant Playa d’en Bossa, the stunning new 270m2 Diner has a chic glass, stainless steel and micro cement interior with a contemporary minimal vibe and customised toilets that will soon become the talk of the town.
A spectacular open plan kitchen will serve up a mouth-watering selection of delicious breakfasts, tasty daytime snacks and wholesome meals prepared from the freshest ingredients from early morning to late evening (11am-2am). With a range of refreshing fresh fruit drinks, milkshakes, delicious smoothies, quality cocktails and an extensive food and drinks menu with the Ibiza Rocks Diner signature super ribs, luxury burgers and pittas, the Ibiza Rocks Diner is set to become the place to dine in Playa d’en Bossa this summer.
The Ibiza Rocks Diner in San Antonio opened in 2010 and is the original home of the Ibiza Rocks live gigs, where The Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Babyshambles, The Kaiser Chiefs and many more took to its stage, as well as regular appearances by some of the world’s greatest DJs including Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Erol Alkan and Doorly.
The Ibiza Rocks Diner in Playa D’en Bossa is set to follow in terms of ambience, international appeal, quality food and style, but with the main focus staying firmly on the food and the eating experience. Whilst no live performances will take place at the Playa d’en Bossa Diner, the Jukebox will be jam packed with hit playlists featuring Ibiza Rocks artists from past and present.

Ibiza Rocks announce this morning the main set of bands for the 2012 series of gigs.
New Order, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party.
Tinie Tempah, Chase & Status, Maverick Sabre, Example, Labrinth, Professor Green
The big one is obviously New Order. This will be the first time they’ve played live on the Ibiza and will headlne on the 12th September. They have history though with Ibiza as it was here they recorded their seminal album “Technique”.
Bernard Sumner said:
The last time New Order were in Ibiza was the second summer of love. We were there to record an album and didn’t really know what we were walking into. By the time we left a few months later New Order, the Happy Mondays and the Hacienda had collided and fused with the Balearics and Ibiza’s superclubs. Manchester had become ‘Madchester’, and dance music had made a quantum leap. Although we didn’t spend much time in the studio we left with the basis of our album Technique. New Order and Ibiza are forever entwined. There’s no going back so instead we look forward -to playing our first ever concert on the island at Ibiza Rocks.”
Kasabian will return to headline the Ibiza Rocks 7th birthday gig on 11th July. Another band who’ve played rockin’ sets at the previous home of Ibiza rocks (Bar M) are Kaiser Cheifs who play on 227th June.
Other returning bands and artists are Maverick Sabre & Labrinth on 13th June, Professor Green on 18th July, Chase & Status on 1st August, Tinie Tempah on 15th August, Example on 29th August. Although Kele Okereke has played ibiza Rocks before in his solo incantion, Bloc Party will play on 5th September.
Resident DJ’s Doorly, Nicola Bear and Colin Peters will also be back behind the decks for 2012.
Shane Murray, Ibiza Rocks Group promoter, said:
“This is the biggest year for the Ibiza Rocks brand yet and we’re genuinely excited to be bringing 16 weeks of phenomenal live gigs to the islands. New Order have had such an influence on Ibiza and we’re making history by putting on their first ever live gig here. Bloc Party will be another real moment of the summer – this show has been a long time coming! It’s such an incredibly exciting time in music right now and with acts like Ed Sheeran, Two Door Cinema Club, Kasabian and Chase & Status all on the bill, the 2012 Rocks line up really reflects that. The energy at our shows is unique and with a line up as strong as this, it’s going to go up a whole other level. See you on the islands!”

update 14/3/12 – the 3 day (€150) presale tickets are now available at livenation - (with a €17.50 booking fee per ticket) – just sign up as a user. So far confirmed headliners are 1st July – Sting, 3rd July – Lenny Kravitz, which obviously leaves 2nd July now open for one of the rumoured headliners: Rihanna, George Michael or (our bet) Elton John.
The first artists for the new Ibiza 123 Festival have been announced today. As we predicted last month there are some heavyweight names for this 3 day festival in the area by Mambo’s in San Antonio taking place on 1-3rd July:
- Lenny Kravitz
- Pete Tong
- Fatboy Slim
- David Guetta
- Wally Lopez
The gigs will begin at noon and run until 2am when Pacha, Amnesia, Space and Ushuaia will have after parties as well as their own VIP tents throught the 3 days.
There will be a chill-out area, hippy market and all the usual festival concessions.
Tickets go on sale on Friday 10th March at 10am (CET) according to Sting website – €65 per day or €150 for weekend pass.
Unconfirmed though is Elton John who has been rumoured to be playing since the start – this tweet may shed some light ;)
