Abel Matutes buys Es Vedra in Ibiza

April 1st, 2011 - 9:18 am Posted in es vedra, ibiza | Comments (3)

es vedraNot content with getting knocked back trying to build a golf course in Playa d’en Bossa, Abel Matutes and a Dutch consortuium have instead bought Es Vedra and its sister island Es Vedranell. This actually makes perfect sense because San Jose have no control over Es Vedra so they can do what they want there.

Plans are to put a small 9 hole golf course on Es Vedranell and a 24 bedroom Hotel on Es Vedra which will be connected to Es Vedranell by a new bridge.

A keen Ibiza spotter will have noticed the undercover structural engineers and geologists “holidaying” on Cala d’Hort. Seems that they will have to raise Es Vedra by 100m in order to create enough space. The golf course will include a driving range shooting gallery where Japanese tourists can take golf pot shots at passing celebs in their boats.
