Ibiza Property Auction

March 26th, 2010

IPAX 2010 is the first international property auction and exhibition to be held in Ibiza on Friday 14 May at the luxurious 5 star hotel Aguas de Ibiza. The launch of this property sales event will showcase some unique properties within the private and public sectors, offering buyers the prospect of obtaining some incredible bargains.

For the first time in Ibiza, IPAX 2010 will bring together under one roof, prospective buyers, sellers and developers, plus banks and mortgage lenders. On hand for advice will be a team of multi-lingual advisors including expert legal representation. Also present will be a host of on-island companies to give helpful advice on subjects such as swimming pools, landscape gardening, architecture, indoor and outdoor furniture plus much more.

The finale of the day will be Ibiza’s first UK style property auction, which will offer buyers some very unique properties, ranging from fincas (traditional houses), apartments, land plots, villas – large and small, to a selection of commercial properties. At the auction you will have the opportunity to become the owner of that Mediterranean style villa up in the hills, or the town house situated in the heart of the World Heritage site of Dalt Vila, or even a well known nightclub. These sought after properties will go under the hammer at seriously discounted “sale of the year” prices – these are NOT must sell properties, these really are must BUY properties.

The team behind IPAX 2010, Property Ibiza Auctions, has over 18 years of real estate business experience on the island. Understanding first-hand the dramatic changes within the housing market and the effect of the current economic climate, these professionals, themselves residents of Ibiza, witnessed the growth of overseas property auctions and decided what was currently on offer was not reflective to Ibiza’s property culture. Buying a property is not only about the bricks and mortar, it’s very much about buying into a lifestyle and at IPAX 2010 there will be a taste of the unique lifestyle Ibiza has to offer.

Ibiza is currently rated as one of the top five destinations for investment within the property market. One of the smaller of the Balearic Islands, it has perfect climate conditions all year round. Its cosmopolitan community offers a real alternative to conventional tourism, making it one of the most desired destinations in Spain.

This is a “must attend” event for all those serious about buying or selling in Ibiza.

The Prodigy to headline Ibiza Rocks and 1st bands announced

March 15th, 2010

ibiza rocksIbiza is set for another rocking year – we can now announce the first set of bands for Ibiza Rocks 2010.

The Prodigy will headline Ibiza Rocks 5th Birthday gig on 20th July. Kele from Bloc Party will headline with support from Delphic on 31st August and Florence and the Machine will play on 24th August.

Returning again will be The Courteeners on 22nd June, Dizzee Rascal on 27th July, The Kooks on 10th August and Pendulum on 7th Sep.

Mallorca Rocks will also feature Calvin Harris and Example on 5th July and Dizzee Rascal on 26th July with Pendulum playing the closing party on 6th September.

This year “Reclaim The Dancefloor” Ibiza Rocks After-Party returns and will be at Es Paradis every Tuesday at midnight shortly after the Ibiza Rocks live gigs end.

ibiza rocks hotelIbiza Rocks turns five this summer and boy has this baby grown up! The line up speaks volumes, with The Prodigy, Kele, Florence and the Machine, The Courteeners, Dizzee Rascal, Delphic, Calvin Harris, The Kooks, Pendulum and Example already booked for the summer long celebration.

Taking place every Tuesday from 08 June to 14 September at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, it’s going to be one hell of a party, bursting with the biggest bands, DJ’s and best breakthrough talent, for 15 weeks straight.

Back in early 2005, Ibiza Rocks was born and the baby of the Balearics quite literally represented the birth of new life in Ibiza and enticed a new generation to the island. Bye bye to ageing superstar DJ’s, bloated VIP areas, inflated prices, foam parties and bad taste booze cruises. Hello to Ibiza Rocks’ groundbreaking series of live music events and an innovative youth brand totally in tune with their hungry, young audience.

From intimate, open-air gigs with some of the worlds best bands including Arctic Monkeys, to the launch of the destination concept Ibiza Rocks Hotel in 2008 with The Enemy, to the opening of a new hotel in Mallorca this year and the most sensational gig line up to date, the Ibiza Rocks brand knows no boundaries. Ibiza Rocks – unrivalled, unstoppable and unmissable!

courteeners ibiza rocksIbiza Rocks kicks off on Tuesday 08 June with some very special surprise guests at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, the only hotel to offer an auditorium style atmosphere and private viewing balconies off the bedrooms.

June will also see one of the UK’s best live bands and festival favourities, The Courteeners (22) swing through the hotel’s rock ‘n’ roll doors and storm the open-air stage.

Liam Fray, The Courteeners said: ‘We can’t wait to get back out there. People go to Ibiza for one thing and that’s to have a f*cking good time. Let’s face it, we definitely fit the criteria.

Back by popular demand in July are ‘Dance Wiv Me’ collaborators, Scottish chart-topper Calvin Harris (06) and BRIT Award winner for Male Solo Artist, Dizzee Rascal(27). Both have played stand out sets at Ibiza Rocks in the past, but this year they will make history as two of the acts to play both Mallorca Rocks and Ibiza Rocks back to back; two islands, for two amazing live gigs within two days. Calvin will be joined at both gigs by one of the best breakthrough artists of 2010, Example.

dizzee rascal ibiza rocksDizzee Rascal said: ‘Can’t wait to play Ibiza Rocks again this year. It was one of my best shows of 2009. It went off big time.’

Every night at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel is party night and every Tuesday night in Ibizabelongs to Ibiza Rocks, but Tuesday 20 July will see some serious sparks flying. For the 5th birthday party, Ibiza’s premier live music promoters have pulled out all the stops to pull in the original Firestarters – The Prodigy!

Yes, the pioneers of Ibiza’s live music scene will celebrate with the pioneers of the electronic dance music scene. With both parties making their name from mixing up dance and rock and delivering ‘Music For the Jilted Generation’, this is the perfect Ibiza Rocks 5th Birthday party partnership. With a vision of creating a night for ‘dance kids who want to rock and rock kids who want to dance’ Ibiza Rocks was conceived with this very moment in mind. Happy Birthday indeed. It’s going to be emotional.

The third act to play both venues is multi-million selling band The Kooks who will make a welcome return to Ibiza Rocks in August (10), having already launched the brand new Mallorca Rocks Hotel on 06 June with Zane Lowe.

In one of the coolest billings of the hottest summer line up, Ibiza Rocks is proud to announce that Kele Okereke from Bloc Party will perform one of his first ever live solo shows as part of his side project. Taking place at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in August (31), Kele will be supported by one of the biggest breakthrough bands of the year,Delphic. Having smashed into the Top 10 with debut album ‘Acolyte’ these boys and their Balearic sound is a match made in heaven for the White Isle.

Following her stunning debut onto the Ibiza Rocks stage as part of Radio 1’s Ibiza Weekend last year, August will see the return of Best British Album BRIT Award winnerFlorence and the Machine for her first headline show (24).

Pendulum will be back with their banging beats and electric live show in September (7). They are sure to be on a high as they fly in straight from Mallorca, where they will have headlined the Mallorca Rocks closing party the night before. September will see another set of very special guests play live under the stars before the Ibiza Rocks 2010 season comes to close on 14 September.

kooks ibiza rocksAlong with the best line up to date, Ibiza Rocks boasts its best deals, with the continuation of specially priced midweek breaks for the more flexible traveller and added extras. This summer all holidays booked with include a gig ticket and entry to Ibiza Rocks’ new after party at Es Paradis.

The official Ibiza Rocks After Party will run every Tuesday at Es Paradis after the Ibiza Rocks gigs finish and ticket holders will get FREE* entry. The musical policy will be very much in keeping with the ‘anything goes’ party spirit that fuels the gigs so expect the best in mash-ups, bootlegs, 4/4 indie, anthems and everything in between. Already signed up as monthly residents are Example + DJ Wire and DJ Dan (from the massive student night Propaganda) plus the likes of UNION DJs who will join residents Doorlyand Nicola Bear. More details on this to come.

Last years’ afterparty ‘Reclaim the Dancefloor!’ became such a runaway hit that it will continue as a stand-alone night. With the help of resident DJ and rising starDoorly, it reclaimed the dancefloor last year and it’s claimed Wednesdays as its own in Ibiza this year beginning from June 16th – Sept 14th at Eden. The full, massive line up’s for this will be announced soon. As well as producing the Ibiza Rocks mix CD (released June 2010) Doorly will be back behind the decks as resident DJ for both Ibiza Rocks and Reclaim the Dancefloor.

pendulum ibiza rocksAndy McKay, Promoter, Ibiza Rocks said: ‘To have a line up like this is the best birthday present we could ever ask for. The Prodigy should be a very special night for the whole island. The line up keeps getting stronger and the Ibiza Rocks brand keeps getting bigger, but our core values have remained the same – great live entertainment at great value. Our weekly parties are epic, crammed with top talent and we keep thinking of new ideas to add value to someone’s night out or holiday. We keep delivering and thankfully the bands and the crowds keep coming.’

* When you enter the Ibiza Rocks event at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel you will be given a wristband that is valid for Ibiza Rocks at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel and the Ibiza Rocks After-Party held every Tuesday at Es Paradis, San Antonio. I’m looking forward to debating what happens next to this incredible music culture we’ve all helped shape in the last 20 years.”

IMS will also hear from legendary producer Robin Millar, responsible for 44 number one hits, who will talk about why just one month after he retired from production duties, electronic music has re-inspired him, and see the return of 19-year old teen promoter Callum Negus Fancey from Let’s Go Crazy after stealing the show last year by stating “Who is Paul Oakenfold? My audience have never heard of him.” In addition, IMS has teamed up with leading consumer portal Resident Advisor, whose audience will select a topic and speakers for the Presidential Debate format which debuted in 2009 to great acclaim.

Ben Turner, a founder and partner in the IMS, states: “IMS was never about the artists, more the people behind the curtain who help guide the gifted. In 2010, we’ve been overwhelmed by approaches from artists to be involved in some way. It’s a great testament to our first two years. Watch out for more special names to follow…”

Following 2009’s successful experiment The IMS Vote will return, a session where the audience make decisions on the future of the genre. Indeed, last year, 69% of those present agreed that IMS had ‘made them question how their companies work’. In 2010, this is taken one step further then Ted Cohen from TAG Strategic will moderate a one-hour session where the delegates are the audience, and the agenda is not set. Cohen himself was so inspired by IMS:09 that he invited last year’s Key Note speaker Richie Hawtin to attend MidemNet after hearing his radical assessment of future music.

Finally reprising his 2009 role, electronic pioneer Tom Middleton will blog to the Beatport community what is being debated, who will in turn feedback and pose questions to the speakers.

Once again the IMS Grand Finale will take place at the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Dalt Vila on Friday May 28. Last year, Basement Jaxx headlined with Pete Tong, Rob da Bank and Filthy Dukes in support. IMS has been inundated with requests from artists to perform at this landmark event. The headline acts will be announced imminently. The event is free to attend for all delegates of the IMS, with some 2,000 tickets available to the public. Tickets are available now from
