ibiza jovesJOVES, the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Baleares, is set to host a one day event uniting its members and their families in the first activity of its kind to take place in Ibiza. The ‘Diada’ takes place Sat 14th November in Ca n’Arabi.

Entrepreneurs have never been few and far between in Ibiza, but now, more than ever, it would seem that great business ideas and companies are springing up with fervour up and down the island, in spite of the ‘uncertain economical climate’ in which we find ourselves. In an attempt to prove the strength of the business acumen in Ibiza, the Young Entrepreneurs Association of the Baleares, JOVES, have announced that this Saturday, 14th November, they will host a day-long event in which members and non-members alike can get together for a day of serious networking with an undertone of family fun.

ibiza jovesThe ‘Diada’, organised by members of the JOVES association themselves, is planned to begin at 1pm with a variety of activities taking place throughout the afternoon, with the final presentation at 8pm. The venue chosen for the event is the breathtaking rural hotel Ca n’Arabi set on the outskirts of Puig den Valls in Ibiza. Bearing in mind that the focus of the event is the ‘getting to know you’ between the 27 members of the association, activities will include recreational training and team-building exercises with an end result of expanding network contacts and awareness of the variety of business and services offered within JOVES. But don’t be fooled into thinking that this sounds too much like another day of hard work, for whilst the objective is business, the aim is fun. With a theme based on the market trading skills of the Phoenicians, participants will be invited to enter into the spirit of the training exercises using bartering tools including such raw materials as salt as their currency for the day.

It is important to note, however, that the Diada is not solely aimed at the entreprenuers themselves with spouses and younger family members also very much welcome to attend. Non-members are neither excluded from the event, although there is a set price of 200euros for the day for those currently non registered with Joves. Apart from a whilst the big boys and girls are busy metaphorically selling their wares, there will also be plenty on offer for the little people. Apart from games and entertainment, including a Gymkana, chidren will be treated to a visit from the island’s favourite clown, Cachirulo, at 3pm.

General Manager of Joves Ibiza, Elena Miragall expressed delight on behalf of the entire association, remarking that the idea to hold the event came about ‘ as a means of uniting members of the association and their families, and offering them a chance to engage in a leisurely day of team-building, networking and entertainment.’ With prizes for the best teams and plenty to keep the kids amused, the Diada promises to be a great day out all round with Joves directors foreseeing this as the start of a number of events of a similar nature set to take place in the future.

Joves Empresaris is a non-profit entity formed for the purpose of promoting entrepreneurs and represents, defends and manages the interests of young business brains right across the Baleares. Now, in the first event of its kind in Ibiza, those same entrepreneurs have pooled resources in order to make some noise about the advantages of not only Joves as an association itself but also the benefits of making the brave move to self-employment. Amongst many other services offered by the Association, JOVES offers on help assistance and advice with attaining grants, training courses and job opportunities. www.joves.com
