In a bi-partisan agreement the Balearic Parliment yesterday unanimously approved a proposal urging the Goverment to allow doctors in the Baleares: Ibiza, Mallorca, Minoroca & Formentera, to be able to use cannabis as a treatment for patients who are not responding to other medicines.

The socialists submitted the proposal that [the Government] “undertake the measures necessary to ensure that, as soon as possible, the doctors practicing in the Autonomous Community can use cannabis in ways that create more a desirable and beneficial life to the patient“.
There are a number of states in the U.S. that already allow doctors to prescribe medical marijuana to patients, most commonly to suppress to nausea and help eating in cancer patients and also in the treatment of glaucoma.
