April in IbizaApril in Ibiza heralds the arrival of Easter – the biggest religious festival both in Spain and here on the islands. The local fraternities dress up in medieval masks and hooded cloaks that cover their faces, and set off on the emotional Good Friday procession through the narrow alleys of Ibiza’s fortified town.

It also takes place on the streets of Santa Eulalia, which also serves as the backdrop for amateur actors to re-enact Jesus’ Stations of the Cross.

For those who enjoy a sporting challenge, there’s also the annual “Ruta de la Sal” regatta and a classic car rally.
