Ibiza lumberjacksThis is a tough time of year for the trees on Ibiza. The older ones have been devastated by last weekends visit by the Mistral, the younger ones that line the streets of Ibiza’s villages are all having a drastic ‘short back and sides’.

Consequently Ibiza’s tree surgeons and lumberjacks are out in force with their chainsaws and pruning shears to stock up on firewood and kindling for the next harsh Ibiza winter.

This photo was taken from outside our apartment by a man in a t-shirt who noticed the fear on the face of the tree in the process of being pruned, whilst being watched by the tree in the foreground, which was ahead of it in the queue…
