We blogged about this in the summer but we’ve done a full article now about this colourful new development in Ibiza marina:

ibiza marinaFor centuries, the historic fortified city of Dalt Vila in Ibiza has been one of Ibiza’s architectural landmarks. Now, a futuristic counterpart is being built across from the world heritage site on the opposite side of the bay.

The renowned architect Jean Nouvel has designed a series of vibrantly modern homes to be built around the desirable marina area – luxury filled oases nestling against a colourful backdrop of bright flowers, turquoise water and clean-cut lines and forms.

Two of the most spectacular buildings on the Balearic Islands are to be built on Paseo de Joan Carles I in Ibiza town, formerly known as Paseo Maritimo. Klaus Spane tells us a little about the projects that are set to revolutionise Ibiza living, 21st century style – and bring a whole new dimension to Ibiza’s diverse construction culture.

From a bird’s eye view, it looks like a snake slithering through the turquoise waters. From the front, it reminds you of the La Scala opera house in Milan, except that the rows of spectators are clad in bright green, lilac, orange, blue and yellow. Both of these perspectives are perfectly valid because renowned architect Jean Nouvel intended his buildings to leave the viewer with a range of impressions.
