Ibiza’s Christmas Cancer fair update

The excitement is rising as Sunday December 14th draws nearer and preparations for the Annual Christmas Fair at the Recinto Ferial approach completion.

This year’s prizes are already coming in fast, including trips to the UK and the mainland. Raffle tickets are already on sale so make sure you buy plenty, and don’t forget to also buy tickets in the ever popular Restaurant Raffle, which offers dinners for two at more than twenty of the island’s top restaurants.

The Cancer Christmas cards are already on sale (6 euros for 10), prepared from the winning paintings by children of the island who participate each year in our Art Competition. Hundreds of the participating paintings will be on display at the Fair. This year’s live entertainment programme, in the form of 15 minute spots throughout the day and evening, will feature some of the best of the islands’ professional artistes (offering their services gratis as always) plus dancing, gymnastics and martial arts performances by the island’s children.

The ever popular and simpatico Dog Show will also take place at 1.00 p.m. Registration starts at noon, when the fair opens. So make sure that you bring your canine friends along to the event! There will be 3 categories: pedigree class, mongrel class and a special class for dogs led by a child. This is a strictly fun event and in each case the animals will be judged for their simpatia and character, so every dog has a chance to win a prize! There will also be a dog obedience demonstration.

Home produce, books, new, nearly-new, bric-a-brac and gift stalls will offer plenty of wonderful bargains, much needed at this credit crunch time! This will be your opportunity to stock up for Christmas and discover some excellent Christmas gifts – not to mention the new streamlined Xmas auction, starting at 6 p.m., which just cannot be missed!

The AIFCC is a beneficial organisation represented by a local executive committee & voluntary helpers who work gratis for the association meeting personally the expenses they incur in their voluntary work. Any island resident who has a special need related to cancer within their family, or who wishes to join or help the AIFCC should check the contact details on their website.

Hello, perhaps our post is off topic but anyways, I have gone surfing about your blog and it looks genuinely awesome. It is obvious that you know the subject and you appear fervent about it. I?m developing a new web site and I’m struggling to make it look great, and also offer quality message. Having discovered much from this site plus I anticipate a great deal more posts and will be back soon. Thanks you.
