So much for China’s openess in Ibiza

We all know that a number of countries block their citizens access to the web. We thought it would be interesting to see what china’s position would be on a number of ibiza websites – given they’ve just spent 2 days here promoting their hosting of the 2008 olympic games.. (If you’re Chinese or an ibiza official look away now….)

Santa Eulalias website (who just happen to have hosted their contingent for the last 2 days) is blocked… as is ours, and most of western europe.

we tested a bunch of websites and they all seemed to be blocked so we thought its maybe just a naff website that doesnt work – so went we went to google and tried to find websites that were not blocked and put them through the test – sure enough we found them

(as an aside we put their performers names this morning through search engines and came up with absolutely nothing)

so… the chinese come to the island but they dont want their own people to know about it..
