The Tulip Rally and a mad idea

Watch this space… we have an idea that we’re going to implement for the Tulip rally (the Rallye de la Sal) on the island. There are 2 “rallys” that take place next weekend – one is the yacht race from Denia and Barcelona to ibiza, the other is a car “race” around the island where the participants dont know where they are going until they work it out from a bunch of lines and arrows and circles…

For those who are not familiar with the Tulip Rally, it basically consists of 20 classic cars chasing around the island at speeds as low as 20kmph on average, its not like the movies, counting the kilometres because after 3.2km (or whatever) you have to “turn left” down a dodgy camino that brings you out on a road that you never knew existed, but is beautiful beyond belief – and takes you to another place that you didn’t know existed.

If you’re lucky you end up meeting all the other car freaks and pleasure seekers you decided to take a drive in the campo with – for lunch and a few cañas.

More clues on “the mad idea” tomorrow…
