DJ Magazine published their 50 top clubs in the world last month, and as expected Ibiza clubs were prominent - with Space grabbing the top spot.
The biggest DJs in the world have voted for their favourite floors to rock and here are the results… it’s the definitive top 50 clubs from around the globe.
Last year’s number five, the renowned Ibizan institution of Space jumped up four places to usurp Fabric as the globe’s finest club. Something anyone who has spent an infamous Ibizan sunset on its picturesque terrace would certainly agree with.
Indeed, it was a fine year for the White Ilse throughout the top ten and beyond, further proof still that all the hogwash about the clubbing haven’s diminishing influence is little more than hot air. The evidence speaks for itself. The colossal Amnesia held on to a top ten birth, Pacha climbed up a place to rise to number three whilst the home of Monday morning Ibizan wrongness DC10 also edged up a place into number seven.
Top 10 Clubs:
- Space (Ibiza)
- Fabric (UK)
- Pacha (Ibiza)
- The End (London)
- Warung (Brazil)
- Panorama (Germany)
- DC10 (Ibiza)
- Amnesia (Ibiza)
- Pawn Shop Lounge (Miami)
- Stereo (Montreal)

One+One sees two of today’s most exciting, talented and revered artists join forces as they attempt to create a piece of dance music history.
James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli first struck up a friendship during gigs in Asia in 2005. Their mutual understanding of each other’s music coupled with the fact they had fun and got into all sorts of mischief together made them inseparable. Throughout 2006 the pair experimented playing back2back, including New Year’s Day in Nic’s hometown of Maidstone, the sunnier climes of Miami’s WMC at Cafeteria and We Love… Space, Ibiza. All received rave reviews (no pun intended) and it was proof indeed JZ and Nic needed to take this idea further – and so ‘One+One’ is born.
The concept will encompass a world tour, starting at Miami’s WMC 2007 with a One+One launch party; the USA leg will see the pair touring like rock stars as they get aboard a tour bus and gig their way around the country covering the length and breadth of America with up to five gigs a week. Following this is a month touring the UK’s hotspots, a month in Asia and Australia trailed by a full 3 months in Europe centred around Ibiza’s summer season. James and Nic will play back2back together on every show. It’ll be a multiple CD deck and laptop extravaganza of layering music, bending sounds and twisting beats to one mind-blowing effect. With gig offers pouring in from every country on planet Earth and nine Festivals already confirmed expect more to follow in early 2007!
In addition to this the duo has struck a deal with Ministry of Sound Recordings for a unique One+One album. A studio mix that will be representative of the shows, it will include several bespoke productions by James and Nic including a collaboration between the two, personal re-edits and all the usual effects and daring mixing people have grown to love them for. A spring release, the album will coincide with the tour.

Judge Jules latest on his myspace page:
On Monday Feb 12th Amanda, Jake, Phoebe and I flew to Ibiza for Jake’s half term, to make some early arrangements for this season’s “Judgement Sundays”. I love Ibiza in the out-of-season winter months - more of you should try it. The island’s covered with almond blossom, the citrus trees bulge with oranges and lemons, and the smell is totally different. The only downer is the lack of direct flights from the UK until April. One has to travel via Barcelona or Madrid, meaning that our two small children needed to be occupied for nearly five hours in either direction. Jake buried his head in his PSP, and we bought Phoebe a bunch of small childrens’ DVDs to watch on Amanda’s laptop.
The weather in Ibiza was stunning during our four days on the island, ranging between 20 and 22 degrees. You don’t expect to come home with a tan from Spain in February, but even my pale Irish skin got some colour.

Ibiza comes in at no.1 - unsurprisingly:
By Terry Jewell, World News Editor, On The Beach Holidays:
- Ibiza, Balearic Islands (Spain) A long time ago, Ibiza was a sleepy island where the most exciting thing happening was the harvest. After being discovered in the 1950’s by the flower power troupe, who visited the island as part of the annual hippie trail, Ibiza has been transformed into the capital of the global party scene.
The nightlife on the island is second to none, with every type of dance music on offer late into the night. The biggest parties are to be found in San Antonio and Ibiza Town, but if you are after something more calming then head out into the country or visit sleepy Santa Eulalia. Another alternative is the incredible open air sunset beach parties at Bora Bora on Playa d’en Bossa or the full moon beach party at Sa Caleta Beach.
While there are plenty, and I mean plenty, of beach parties in the main clubbing areas most of the huge parties that have made Ibiza the global party capital are held in clubs like Manumission and Eden. One thing is for sure, any self-respecting party animal should have Ibiza at the top of their destination list!

Welcome to the new blog for Ibizaa-z.com. 8 years ago we started another Ibiza site but the time has come to completely revamp and start a new one. The main site won’t be live until its basically done, unlike our first version which went from one page and expanded.
This time were using all the tools that have appeared on the net in the meantime - it’ll be better organised, look nice and will be our usual take on the all the bars, restaurants, beaches etc on the island.
Since we live here all year round we have a unique perspective - hope you enjoy our blog as well….
